I’m getting really annoyed with One Scotland and there ad’s that are making me, as a Scottish person, feel like a racist.
So, I sent them a message via there website and I await there reply.
The full message I sent is below
What’s with the huge billboard ad for Racism outside Prestwick Airport. This is putting an image in tourists minds before they even get out the airport and into their hired car or on to the train.
I drive past this everyday and think to myself “Is racism in Scotland really that bad?” and I have to say I don’t think it is and certainly doesn’t merit a 20 foot advertisement outside our second busiest airport.
When you advertise a problem, doesn’t it make the problem harder to fix? and can you fix what you call rasicm in Scotland? Certainly not by buying billboard advertisments.
You might suggest that I know nothing about rasicm in Scotland because I’m Scottish but I’ve lived in Ireland, England, Spain and Thailand and I have to say Ireland does have a problem with what they call “non-nationals”, a problem which I don’t see in Scotland.
Above all stop wasting my tax on negative advertisments that can only hurt the tourist industry of this country, which has been in decline for 20 years.

Hmm. Vaguely disturbing image – I’m sure someone thought it was really clever to have a blue background write racism and put the white X on it to cross out racism with a saltire. Unfortunately it requires so much effort to get to the core message that you lose what its all about “Show racism the red card” is so much simpler and effective for this reason. http://www.theredcardscotland.org/potm/five/may.html
